Perfect for 6YO who can't stay dry at night

My typically developing 6 year old, approx. 50 lb. son has never been able to stay dry at night. He is a sound sleeper, has a small bladder, doesn't get the signal that he needs to go. The pediatrician is not ready to try any other interventions (medicine, alarm, etc...) so these have been a lifesaver. He is able to wear one every night, and can wear one without anyone noticing if he is at a sleepover. He can even remove them himself in the morning, usually by tearing the sides. We have been through heavy wetting phases where they have leaked a little bit, not enough to wake him in the night. It seems that Diaper Doublers are no longer made, but I have found that Depends makes a product called Boost (Depend BOOST Inserts - Diaper Liners - Booster Pads - Doublers, Pack/20 Pads) that helps. It is like a maxi-pad without the plastic liner. We don't have to use them all the time, only occassionally. I believe the reason for the leakage is he exceeds the GoodNights' capacity. I don't think it is a design flaw. These seem to fit him better and are much more absorbent than Pull-Ups (which I think must be made with a lower capacity for the specific purpose of potty training).

Like all products in this nature they can get costly since the packages are so little. I am using these on a child that is no where near to being potty trained so we go throught a lot of them since they are being used instead of diapers. Not all children will be potty trained before they out grow size 6 diapers. Pampers Cruisers has size 7 but they are not bigger than a Huggies size 6. My child always would say his diaper was tight. He looked like he was wearing bikini underwear. Some kids are just larger kids but are still babies. It is nice to see that other parents here have let it be known that as early as 22 months on that their babies have grown out of diapers as well as my baby. Hopefully he will start using the potty soon because these will kill my budget. I know people have said that store brands leak. Well today I was in a local market and looked in the quick sale/ reduced basket. I found a pack of the "Good Nites" that were Kroger brand and were clearing for 2.99. I bought them. When I turned the package over and compared them to the "Good Nites" they are made by the same company. I have always heard that companies do this. They will have other brand names under their brand. The only difference were the Kroger brand were plain which was fine with me. They were the same quality. SO, please don't discount store brands unless you know for sure they don't work for you. Chance are they come from the same manufacture. Walmart and Target Infant formula comes from the same company just labled differently.

Not for side sleepers

My special needs 10 yr old wears these both day and night. He is still learning to use the bathroom, but likes the idea of not having to wear a diaper. Although the fit is great and they work really for him during the day and for short naps, I find that I have to use a pad similar to a sanitary napkin across the sides at night because he is a side sleeper and there is no absorbancy in the sides of these at all.

Good for Use for Special Needs

I have a special needs son and these work well. The only problem is that sometimes the sides come apart, but I think that occasionally I will get a bad batch. I order these regularly and most of them hold up well.
