This seat is GREAT for boys! The frog's eyes are in the prefect location. My son enjoyed sitting on his frog! Clean up is easy too, just one piece to empty (no little crevices). Fisher-Price Precious Planet Potty, Froggy Friend

Needs design improvements; forces child to straddle "eyes"

We bought this for our 18 month old son to start getting him used to the idea of a potty. He is obviously too young for formal potty training, but we encourage him to sit on it and such. Anyway, because of the way this potty is designed, it forces him to spread his legs rather far apart in order to "straddle" the eyes of the frog (the shape of the eyes is to messes when training boys). This makes it hard for him to get up and down off the seat. I also wish it was just shorter. This would make it easier for him to get on and off.
Our son loves the frog design, so that is a plus since it engages him more than a plain seat. But it isn't enough to overcome the design problems. We're going with the Baby Bjorn instead.

Just purchased for my two year old. I showed it to him and he clapped his hands! Immediately got him to try to go and wallah! He peed in his new potty and no pee on the floor!! Horray!! This is the 1st time he's peed in the potty. The high splash guard is awesome for boys! What a great new product. Wish it had been around for his older brother. Also love how easy it is to clean.

Perfect for boys

Excellent potty - large enough for older children (my son is 3) to sit on comfortably, splash guard is perfect - previous 'boys' potties we have had have not had large enough splash guards to be effective, wide base so no tipping over, removable bucket for easy cleaning.

First time out; HUGE mess!

I'm currently potty training my 3rd boy. The potty chair we had previously was much "fancier" with the transition lid that could also be placed on a full size toilet, and that was awful to keep clean. This time around I was on the hunt for something that was all one piece, smooth, and very easy to clean. The froggy potty is definitely all of those things. This one was also way less expensive than any of the others; I was thrilled! We've been working on potty training for well over a week now, and my little guy has been using a small padded seat on the toilet. But, I have to help him on and off, and a lot of his accidents have been because he just doesn't want to tell me he needs to go. I was hoping that with this one he would be able to do it all by himself. He insists that I leave the room when he's 'going', so, after showing him the new Froggy Potty and helping him sit down the right way (those HUGE eyes make sitting a bit difficult), I left the room and stood outside the door. A few seconds later my little guy tearfully called to me, "Momma, I pee on floor!" I walked back into the bathroom and found it literally FLOODED with pee. So much for the incredible splash guard. I think the problem is that the guard doesn't curve over at the top at all, and the pee just goes right up and over the top. NOT impressed. I'm now leaning towards trying the Baby Bjorn, hopefully we'll have better luck.
